Yreka High School.

Principal's Message.

Yreka Union High School is a comprehensive, four-year high school offering a wide range of educational opportunities for its student body.  The curriculum and goal of the Yreka Union High School District is to assist students in preparing for success in whatever they choose beyond high school - be it college, vocational education, military, or entry into the job market.  The primary focus of the curriculum at Yreka High is to help the students develop skills in communication, problem solving critical thinking, research, technology, creativity, social and moral ethics, and advanced vocational training.  The culminating academic experience occurs during the senior year with the Senior Project.  This project is designed to allow students to combine and focus skills they have learned at Yreka High into a major project of his/her choice and interest.

We are proud of what we offer to students at Yreka High School.  We try to provide an array of learning experiences that take place inside and out of the classrooms.  In keeping with the traditional high school model, we strive to offer extracurricular opportunities for our student population.  All students are encouraged to establish a bond with the school through participation in one or more of the school's clubs, sports programs, or other activities such as drama, music, dance, FFA, etc. provided at YHS. Students that bond with the school generally experience more social and academic growth.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school family.
