Core Values developed by the Board of Trustees
- Assure and promote student achievement and education opportunities
- Maintain fiscal stability/responsibility
- Maintain and foster unity in all district functions
- Continue to promote and foster our community involvement
- Strive for an optimal percentage for unrestricted reserves within the 15% to 20% range
- Maintain, improve, and develop facilities and equipment for learning and work
- Pursue revenue opportunities for enhancement
- The District will strive to maintain the current percentage ratios if and when revenues increase (personnel to other budgetary items), while providing fair and equitable compensation for all employees
- Maximums for class size will be designated by the following:
- Grade Level - (9th & 10th Grades, smallest classes)
- Departments - (English and Mathematics, smallest classes)
- Course - (Physical Education and Electives, larger classes)
Education Goals
- Increase academic rigor as measured by California Content Standards Testing
- Strive for an Adequate Progress Index (API) of 800 for YHS
- Provide and maintain stringent control of Adequate Progress Index (API) for DHS - 13 Points
- Meet or Exceed the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) at YHS & DHS
- Maintain a WASC accreditation of six (6) years for YHS
- Develop and implement an 'In School Retention' (ISR) System
- Better prepare our students for college by increasing writing across the curriculum
- Continue to provide Staff with professional development opportunities
- Reduce drug and alcohol abuse and expulsions
- Maintain and improve course offerings and programs

- Continue to fund preventive maintenance of district sites
- Tennis Courts (patch)

- AERIES student information systems transition
